The Middletown Police Department is a full-service police agency, which provides professional law enforcement services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is divided into two major divisions, an Operations Division and the Administrative and Investigations Division. The Operations Division is commanded by a Captain and provides patrol coverage through the use of two (2) platoons which are divided into four (4) separate squads. Each of the squads are supervised by a Lieutenant and a Sergeant. All patrol squads work 12-hours shifts and provide police coverage for three main patrol districts.
The Administrative and Investigations Division is commanded by a Captain with a Lieutenant who serves as the executive officer. The Division’s primary responsibility includes the Investigations / Detective Unit, Community Policing, Canine(K-9), School Resource Officers, Accreditation, Reports and Records, Animal Control, VIN Inspections, Facilities Management, and Fleet Operations.
The total authorized compliment of personnel for the Middletown Police Department includes thirty-nine (39) sworn officers, supported by four (4) full time and two (2) part time civilians.
